Your First Visit

Upon arrival at your first visit, we will ask you to fill out medical and dental history forms. We will also need you to provide us with your insurance information.  Our friendly administration staff will welcome you and answer any questions you may have.

The initial exam includes x-rays and a thorough and complete oral examination which includes oral cancer screening. We will then discuss your individual treatment plan and answer any questions or concerns. If it has been some time since your last cleaning, you will then see the hygienist who will gently remove tartar build up and give you suggestions to help you care for your gums and your teeth.

It is important for you to always communicate with us so that we can tend to your unique needs.

Why do I need x-rays?
Some cavites and infections can only be seen with x-rays. For example, cavities between teeth may not be visible clinically, thus the need for an x-ray.  Finding problems early is important to protecting your oral health and preventing more serious and expensive conditions in the future.

Periodontal (gum) Assessment
Gum disease is the #1 cause of tooth loss and up to 80% of the population has some form of it. The hygienist will measure your gums to determine their health. If gum disease is detected early enough, it's easily treated. We will show you how to properly care for your gums and teeth to prevent it.
